30 undocumented immigrants found hiding in semi-truck

WESTMORELAND, Calif. – A group of 30 undocumented immigrants were found inside the trailer of a semi-truck.

U.S. Border Patrol agents say they originally pulled over the truck driver for an immigration inspection Sunday night near the Highway 86 checkpoint.

Agents say, during the inspection the driver consented to a search of the semi-truck.

The group of undocumented immigrants were found locked inside the refrigerated trailer of the truck, according to agents.

The 60-year-old truck driver, a U.S. citizen, is in custody pending prosecution for human smuggling.
