American Airlines renews lease with Yuma International Airport

American Airlines will be in town for at least 5 more years.

A five year lease has been signed with Yuma International Airport.

Also working with U.S Airways, the airline carrier is being dubbed “The New American.”

Officials at the airport say this could open up more options at the airport.

Gen Grosse with Yuma International Airport says, “It really shows the commitment from American Airlines to our community to continue providing great service from Yuma to Phoenix… We’re hoping through the continued relationships that we have, that we’ll be able to encourage them to enter into another route.”

The new 5 year lease goes into effect October 1, 2015.
