Asal Rezaei

Asal Rezaei joined the KYMA team as an anchor/reporter in April 2015.

Asal moved to Dallas from Germany as a young girl and loves her adopted Texas roots. Asal comes to Yuma from Chicago, where she lived for five years and got her degree in broadcast journalism.

In 2012, Asal was chosen to cover the 12th World Summit of Nobel Peace Laureates in Chicago where she captured interviews with past presidents and scholars on the panel. She also became an Emmy-nominated multimedia journalist while studying at Columbia College. She spent her last year in Chicago as an writer/producer intern at WGN with award-winning television host and anchor Paul Lisnek on his show- Politics Tonight.

Meteorology has always been something Asal has been passionate about and is thrilled to be weather forecasting in Yuma. Asal has always seeked challenging stories that define her generation. Asal was born in Germany and comes from an Iranian background. She moved to the United States as a young girl.

She has visited many different parts of the world and is fascinated by the cultures that engulf it. She is thrilled to be a part of the Yuma community.
