AWC announces search for next president

YUMA, Ariz. – In a campus-wide email sent Thursday, Arizona Western College District Governing Board President Dennis Booth announced the initiation of the search for the next AWC president. Dr. Glenn E. Mayle, who is beginning his sixth year in that capacity, had previously announced his retirement effective June 2016.

A ten-member search committee has been named, representing both the campus community, and the two-county district at large. The process will commence with open forums for the college community to help create a presidential profile.

Booth will share leadership of the Search Committee with fellow AWC District Governing Board member Olivia Zepeda. It the campus email, the board highlighted its commitment to an equitable, participatory, inclusive and fair search that will attract a strong pool of presidential candidates, and to that end, the board has retained the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) to assist in the search.

A designated page on college website will include ongoing information regarding the search, both for the college community and potential candidates. Any questions about the search can be directed to our ACCT search consultants Narcisa Polonio, Ed.D., at narcisa_polonio@acct.org, 202-276-1983 (cell) or Linda Thor, Ed.D., at lindamthor@gmail.com, 480-226-9176 (cell).
