AWC migrant assistance program receives funding for five years

YUMA, Ariz – The College Assistance Migrant Program at Arizona Western College received $2.1 million to fund the program for the next five years. We spoke to the director of the program Rosalia Delgado, she says it was a very competitive process to get the grant which they applied for 5 years ago. AWC is the only school in Arizona with the CAMP program. They were 1 in 12 schools across the nation to receive such a grant.

The CAMP program has been around for 40 years in the United States but has only been offered at AWC since 2010. Delgado says they have had about 200 students involved in the program at AWC since it has been offered. They have about 40 students a year.
