Behind enemy lines!

YUMA, Ariz. – Both the Gila Ridge Hawks and Cibola Lady Raiders volleyball programs are each looking for a spark. Both schools are trying to fight off their respective losing streaks; Hawks at three games and Lady Raiders at two.

Tuesday night, both would cross paths for the first time on Yuma’s west side; and Gila Ridge would be the team ready to play.

After taking the first two sets thanks in part to Alexis Webb’s 21 assists, the Lady Raiders would put up a fight in the third set. Kylee Lakey would come to life, garnering 5 kills and helping the Lady Raiders even the set at 20 points apiece.

But, the Hawks would put it away with a soft touch kill shot by Jenna Saunders that would give Gila Ridge the match point.

Hawks have the bragging rights so far. They take the match by the three-set score of 25-12, 25-14 and 25-21.
