Boy struck by truck at Yuma middle school

YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Police Department says a boy was struck by a truck Wednesday morning.

YPD says the incident happened at Centennial Middle School, located at 2650 West 20th St. in Yuma. Officers got the call at 6:44 a.m.

YPD says the initial investigation revealed a 13-year-old boy fell into the traffic lane where students are dropped off for school.  The boy was then struck by a red Ford F-150, driven by a 17-year-old girl who was dropping off a student.

The boy was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center and flown out to a Phoenix hospital in serious condition.

This case is still under investigation.
