CALEXICO, Calif. – The Imperial Valley League is still up for grabs in prep baseball, as four teams vie for the league title with only six regular season games remaining. Two of those teams crossed paths in Calexico; as the Bulldogs hosted the Southwest Eagles. The winner would keep pace with league leader Brawley, as both were a game back going into this one.
The Eagles would draw first blood in the first, when they managed to load the bases with one out and Javi Tellez delivered a sacrifice fly to bring home Junior Romero to get on the board first.
But, Calexico’s offense proved to be too much for Southwest on the afternoon when they strung together an offensive clinic; coming away with the 19-5 win.
