Child Pornographer sentenced to 14 years

PHOENIX, Ariz. – A man was sentenced to 14 years in prison for Sexual Exploitation of a Minor Friday in Maricopa County.

35-year-old Thomas Robert Kernohan, was convicted after receiving and distributing child pornography according the Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations began looking into Kernohan in 2013 after they found him in a foreign file-sharing website. Agents were able to find evidence in an encrypted external hard drive containing hundreds of pictures of suspected child pornography during a search of Kernohan’s home in Ahwatukee.

Kernohan admitted collecting the images, stating that he had,”a sick fascination with young boys” and that he knew it was “obviously wrong.”
