Clinicas de Salud is the third largest healthcare institution in the Imperial Valley and now they’ll be expanding.
Clinicas de Salud has received more than $2 million dollars of grant money for the expansion.
“In all will double the size of the exam rooms and the double the number of exam rooms we have and make our services more comprehensible,” Dir. of Medical Operations Dr. Afshan Baig said.
They will be hiring more staff and they will also be integrating behavioral health with the primary care, expanding their occupational health services and pediatrics department.
Their primary care will be located down the street from their main facility on Main Street.
The expansion will provide more areas for privacy for patients.
“If we are providing behavioral health services sometimes the patients may not feel very comfortable. Some are patients that are not comfortable with big groups of people. So, we will be able to really meet special needs,” Dr. Baig said.
Clinicas services the not only the valley but includes the whole Southwest region.
“It’s a little bit of an indication of the deman on the patients side and the consumer side so being able to meet that demand with such a critical service is very important. We’re very excited,” Mayor Pro Tem Don Wharton said.
“This is very good it’ll bring more jobs to the Imperial Valley,” Yolanda Paz-Gilbert said.
They’re hoping to break ground sometime next year.
