VISALIA, Calif.- The convicted cartel assassin arrested in Yuma County by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents has been sentenced to nine consecutive life sentences on Tuesday. Jose Manuel Martinez pled guilty to each of the nine counts against him; Martinez was also convicted in Alabama for a 2013 killing of a man who according to reports made a comment about Martinez’ daughter. According to reports Martinez is suspected of 34 killings in 12 states. According to his own admission, he was a contract killer for an unnamed cartel. Martinez will first serve 50 years in Alabama before starting his life sentences in California.
