Closing arguments wrapped up this afternoon in the Robert Wade Moore III trial.
The defense is resting it’s case and Moore will not testify. Moore is charged with 2nd Degree Murder for allegedly shooting Jose Orejel over 500 dollars. The defense stated to the jury that Moore has no criminal history or evidence that he had financial problems. Leading to the question, why would he kill someone over 500 dollars? However, the State tried convincing the jury that Moore is not a reasonable man and planned the killing all along.
The State’s attorney was the first to take the floor this morning. Members of Orejel’s family were also present in the courtroom and were in tears during the state’s argument. They played recordings of Moore’s ‘free talk’ with the state as he claims self-defense.
Deliberation will continue on Thursday and we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest information in our Crime Tracker 11 Report.
