Desert Southwest guide to 4th of July holiday weekend events

YUMA, Ariz. – There are many events slated for this coming 4th of July holiday weekend. We have listed these events below. If you don’t see your event, send us your information to news@kyma.com.

FRIDAY, JULY 3

Early Independence Day Celebration – Paradise Casino – Gates open at 6 p.m. – Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

Live entertainment provided by Risque band. Fun zone for the kids. Free games for the kids, free cotton candy, popcorn, snow cones and sodas. Admission is free.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 4

Independence Day Flag Raising Ceremony  – Yuma Armed Forces Park – 7:30 a.m.

The Independence Day Flag Raising ceremony will honor military in Yuma. For more information call (928)343-1715.

City of Yuma 4th of July All American BBQ & Fireworks Spectacular – Desert Sun Stadium – Gates open at 4 p.m.

The City of Yuma is offering a 25 minute fireworks show! There will also be an eating contest, water balloon challenges, and food and drinks. Admission is $1 per person at the gate, with children 3 and under free. For more information go to http://yumaaz.gov/events.

FREEDOM FEST 2015 – Imperial Valley College – 6 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

The 25th annual Freedom Fest is free to the public, and will once again be at the Imperial Valley College.

4th Of July at Cocopah Casino – Casino Events Lawn – Gates open at 6 p.m.

The 4th of July at Cocopah Casino will offer fireworks, food, music and fun. Free watermelon, jumpers, water slides. Food vendors will also be there. Admission is free.

Somerton July 4th Celebration – Council Ave. Park in Somerton – 7 p.m. – 11 p.m.

Get ready for a fireworks show in Somerton! There will also be a hot dog and watermelon eating contest, and a water balloon battle. Admission is free.

Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration – Joe Orduño Park, 966 N. Park Ave. San Luis – 5 p.m. – 1 a.m.

In honor of Independence Day, the City of San Luis and its sponsors are hosting the annual Fourth of July Fireworks Celebration on Saturday, July 4. Admission is free.
