Family friend launches fundraiser in memory of twins

YUMA, Ariz. – A account has been set up in memory of the twin boys who drowned in a Yuma canal last week. Its creator, Marlene Gleim, said she is a friend of the victims’ family.

“No parent should ever have to lose a child, you know, let alone both of them at the same time. That’s what really, really is heartbreaking to me because those little boys were, you know, meant so much to so many people,” she told us.

Gleim said the money will be used to pay for a memorial and medical costs. The fundraising account raised more than $8,000.00 in less than 24 hours after it launched on Saturday.

The eighteen month old twins died after drowning in a canal nearby Avenue 6E Friday morning.
