Former FedEx employees appear in court

YUMA, Arizona – Last Wednesday authorities say two FedEx employees stole several cellphones from a Yuma Facility.

Yuma police say, 24 yr. old Michael Luevanos and 27 yr. old Ernesto Luebanos admitted to officers and FedEx investigators that they were involved in the theft.

Luevanos and Luebanos were both booked at the Yuma county detention center and released the same day. Prosecutors charged both men on two counts, one count of trafficking in stolen property and a second count for theft.

FedEx officials believe the thefts could have been occurring since early January.

Police detectives served search warrants at the two men’s homes and their vehicles and say numerous cellphones were seized.

A 22 yr. old woman was also arrested during the search warrant process on suspicion of hindering prosecution, possession of stolen property and tampering with physical evidence.

Luevanos and Luebanos are set for a preliminary hearing on February 5th at 4p.m..
