Former Yuma County Sheriff’s deputy killed in Phoenix car crash

Glendale, Ariz. – Forty-one-year-old Isaac Rosario died in a car crash Saturday in Glendale, Ariz. He was a marine with Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, Yuma County Sheriff’s deputy, and his latest role, a police officer.

His sister-in-law, Victoria Fata said, “After 9/11 my brother-in-law decided to join the military, because he wanted to serve our country. And his dream was to be a police officer. And he did successfully fulfill those dreams.”

Although his dreams were fulfilled, as his Fata said, this past his life was cut short. “We’ve never been in such a tragedy before but he was a good person,” said Fata. Rosario was driving on Grand Ave. in Glendale with one of his two children, when a second vehicle hit two light poles, crossed the median, and plowed head on into his car. Rosario was declared dead at the scene.

“He was very well liked and loved and he will be missed very much,” said Fata. His daughter was taken to a hospital with serious injuries. It is not yet known if speed or alcohol played any role in the deadly crash.
