Gun control laws in the spotlight: local reactions
In Arizona gun control laws are among the least restrictive in the entire country. According to Arizona state law, any person 21 years or older, without prior felony convictions and U.S. Permanent status, may carry a weapon openly or concealed without the need for a license.
In fact, back in February of this year, an Arizona state Senate committee approved a bill that would effectively block any new federal gun control measures in the state by withdrawing all state participation and enforcement.
With 41 school shootings in 2015 alone, some local residents don’t think change in gun control laws could have any impact.
Find out what local residents are saying about the controversial topic, coming up on the early & evening edition tonight on KYMA at 5 & 6 p.m.
