YUMA, AZ- Hollywood is coming to El Centro! That’s right all you aspiring actors and actresses it’s time to dress to impress! The Warner Brothers film “Arms and Dudes” are looking for men and woman of all ages from 18-55 years old.
Jon Porter, Marketing Director, said “You’re going to need your I-9. You can go on any website and just Google I-9 you’ll ouck it up and get that and come smiling. They’re looking for military types. People that can handle weapons. They’re looking for Middle Eastern types. But they need hundreds of people so anyone that shows up you’re going to get paid for this and you get a chance to be in a pretty big movie.”
“Arms & The Dudes” is based on a true story. It follows two friends in their early 20’s living in Miami during the Iraq War who exploit a little-known government initiative that allows small businesses to bid on U.S. Military contracts. Starting small, they begin raking in big money and are living the high life. But the pair gets in over their heads when they land a $300 million deal to arm the Afghan military—a deal that puts them in business with some very shady people, not the least of which turns out to be the U.S. Government.
Porter says, filmmakers will not only be looking for extras but also people to say a couple lines during scenes as well.
Porter adds, “So you can be speaking in the latest todd philips movie. If you know todd philips he did the hangover and old school.”
Auditions will take place Saturday March 28th at the Imperial Valley Mall located at 3451 South Dogwood Avenue. Parking is free, and they advise that you park near the JC Pennys entrance. All hired as background will be paid.
