YUMA, Ariz. – Construction on Interstate 8 continues with a few detours stretching from the Fourth Avenue Interstate 8 exit to Holtville, Calif.
Lane closures and traffic detours are still ongoing for the three different construction segments on the I-8. There is signage alerting drivers where to turn.
Here is an update on construction for the three segments of the project:
Segment One, Holtville area: Traffic will be reduced to one lane. Orchard Rd. will remain accessible. Eastbound on and off ramp at Bonds Corner Rd. and Vanderlinden Rd. will be re-opened.
Segment Two, Border Patrol Checkpoint area: Westbound I-8 off-ramp to Brock Research Center Rd. is closed. Traffic will be detoured to SR-98 to eastbound I-8 to Brock Research Center Rd. Eastbound off and on ramps at Gordons Well Rd. are closed with signage to follow access points.
Segment three, 4th Avenue area: Traffic is reduced to one lane. Eastbound off and on ramp at SR-98/Algodones Rd. and 4th Avenue are closed with detour signage to use Winterheaven Dr.
However, Caltran crew encourages the community to be patient.
