June 4th is “National Hug Your Cat Day!”

Scientists have found that cat owners are 30 percent less likely to die from a heart attack.

Cats also boast many forms of therapy to children with disorders including autism.

June is adopt a cat month, and experts say, right now – especially in Yuma County – is a good time to adopt.

The Humane Society of Yuma also has an incentive for cat adoptions; any feline friend older than six months is free.
