SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (AP) – A man has been arrested on suspicion of beating and tying up a woman he says was a prostitute.
Scottsdale police say 52-year-old Bryon Alexander Ysasi faces charges of kidnapping and aggravated assault after being seen leaving the hotel room of an injured woman who was bound with electrical tape.
Ysasi told police he had hired the woman for sex but denied hitting her.
The Arizona Republic reports a friend of the victim tackled Ysasi and grabbed his gun when he tried to leave the hotel. Hotel workers also helped hold him down until police arrived.
Police say the victim was a 26-year-old woman.
Ysasi is being held on a $75,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 6.
