Man in fatal tractor roll-over identified

WINTERHAVEN, Calif. – A Yuma man is dead after the tractor he was in rolled over early Thursday morning.

California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers say 23-year-old Omar Bañuelos was traveling with two other people in a tractor when they were hit from behind by a driver in a Ford, Ranger heading in the same direction.

The impact of the crash caused the tractor driver to lose control and roll over.

Everyone else involved in the collision only suffered minor and moderate injuries according to the CHP report.

The incident happened on Ross Road east of Fisher Road in the Bard Valley.
