Man shot at while driving near Phoenix airport on I-10

PHOENIX, Ariz. – The Phoenix Police Department is searching for a suspect who allegedly shot at a driver from another vehicle on a Phoenix freeway.

According to Arizona Department of Public Safety spokesman Bart Graves, the incident happened Saturday as the victim was driving near Sky Harbor International Airport around 7:15 p.m.

The man was heading westbound on I-10 between I-17 and State Route 51 when another driver rolled down a passenger side window. Graves says that is when a suspect fired a shot into the victim’s vehicle.

Phoenix police responded near Seventh Street and McDowell Road—where the victim pulled over.

The driver described the suspect as a black female riding in a white KIA.

Graves says it is not clear what led up to the shooting and the incident remains under investigation.
