Murder suspect in January shooting arrested


YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Police Department said it has arrested a man tied to a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 15-year-old teen. YPD said 18-year-old Christopher Carreno is behind bars facing 34 felony charges, including first degree murder.

It all stems from an incident in January when multiple shots were fired into a vehicle. Some of the shots struck 15-year-old Victor Sanchez. He was taken to a Phoenix area hospital but died days later.

YPD said this case is considered gang related and is still under investigation.
