YUMA, Ariz. – A write in candidate for Yuma city council says she’s ready for the chance to serve her community. Kim Hamersley is a recent Yuma transplant, and now the fourth contender in the running for three council seats available this election.
Hamersley says she’s met with key city officials to build relationships and gain an understanding of what the community needs. With her three kids on their own, Hamersley says she wants to dedicate her time and effort to become a part of a growing positive change she sees in the City of Yuma.
“There were only three people running for those seats, I felt it was my responsibility to give Yuma a choice and anybody who has seen my material sees giving Yuma a choice on there. I think there’s so much excitement on the horizon. There’s so much in the works for economic development for the parks and recreation for the support of public safety and that’s what I’m all about,” said Hamersley .
