Police say a man was shot and killed when a Halloween party involving hundreds of people at a vacant Phoenix lot turned violent.
Authorities say someone started firing gunshots at a lot near 67th Avenue and Van Buren Street around 4 a.m. Sunday after a fight started.
Responding officers say the crowds tried to flee when they arrived.
Police found a 24-year-old man shot but pronounced him dead.
A teenager with a gunshot wound to his lower body was hospitalized but his injuries are not life-threatening.
Police have not released any information about possible suspects.
They say it will take some time to process the scene because of the size of the area and the number of people who were there.
