YUMA, Ariz. – Two suspects who were suspiciously hanging out on a hotel fire escape lead Yuma police officers on a foot pursuit near downtown Yuma.
Officers say they were called out to the San Carlos Hotel where two people were on the fire escape. Officers say they tried to talk to the suspects but instead the two fled on foot leading officers into the city’s water treatment plant.
Police officers were able to arrest one suspect, the second one was able to get away by swimming across the Colorado River into California.
The man who was arrested is facing charges for criminal trespassing and an outstanding warrant according to officers.
