Police report reveals new details in Saturday’s road rage

A road rage incident that happened in Yuma over the weekend has gone viral. It shows the suspect, 51-year-old Lee Schismenos, getting out of his car and attacking the driver of a motorcycle and his girlfriend several times. Wednesday, we obtained a copy of the police report shedding some light on the conversation the suspect had with officers.

According to the report, one officer at the scene smelled alcohol on the suspect’s breath.

When he asked him if he had anything to drink, Schismenos said he had taken 3 to 4 shots of whiskey, but when asked again he said he had taken 4 to 5 shots of whiskey. When asked if he was impaired by the alcohol, the suspect replied, “not to drive, no”. According to the report, the suspect rated himself as a four for being intoxicated on a scale from 1 to 10, with 10 being extremely intoxicated.

The suspect was then taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center. This is an ongoing investigation. The suspect’s misdemeanor charges are still pending.
