Shamrocks pass first playoff test

YUMA, Ariz. – The Yuma Catholic Shamrocks football team has now extended it’s program long winning streak to 30 games, as they took care of 16 seed Winslow in the 1st round of the AIA Division 4 State Tournament.

The Rocks got off to a hot start, taking a 26-0 lead. This before the Bulldogs tried to get back into the game in the second half in almost trading points with YC the rest of the way.

YC winds up with the 45-13 win. Quarterback Stetson Stallworth racked up close to 350 passing yards with 4 touchdown passes.

The Rocks will get a big 2nd round test this Saturday, as they host arch rival Northwest Christian at Ricky Gwynn Stadium. Kickoff is at 6pm.
