YUMA, Ariz. – For the past 15 years the Yuma community has come together to donate school supplies for local kids. Friday was no different, the Stuff the Bus event was held at the Yuma Palms Mall throughout the afternoon. Residents donated items like back-packs, pencils and folders to help prepare students for their first day of school.
The goal this year for Stuff the Bus was 6,000 back-packs. Superintendent Tom Tyree is confident they will reach that goal. People of all ages volunteered for the event and were happy to help such a good cause. At the end of the event about $7,000 in cash donations were made. If you would like to donate Yuma Regional Medical Center is taking donations in their foundation center and Alexander Ford is also taking donations.
