Victor Arriola appeared in court Wednesday afternoon and faces six felony charges. He is pleading not guilty and is being held on $500,000 bond. His next court appearance will be a preliminary hearing that is set for February 4th at 4pm.
Arriola was confronted by a Yuma Police Officer on Saturday in an alleyway by Colorado Street and 1st Street. He ran from the officer, jumping over fences and running through residents backyards, making it 90 yards until the officer caught up to him. At that point Arriola reached into his pocket for a small caliber hand gun, the officer says he felt he was in immediate danger so he deployed his electronic control device.
