Brawley, Calif.,- Two healthcare districts in the Imperial Valley have entered into an agreement to meet the needs of health services in Calexico.
The Pioneers Memorial Healthcare and Heffernan Memorial Healthcare District’s have entered into a major agreement last week. Pioneers Memorial will now provide consultative assistance and support services to Heffernan residents. CEO of Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District, Larry Lewis says they are working as a team to find gaps and holes in the health care services in Calexico.
“We both agreed that there is a shortage of healthcare services in Calexico, given the population that’s down there.” said Lewis.
The Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District Board of Directors voted in favor last Monday to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Heffernan Healthcare District.
Lewis says they are working on different service programs including shuttle service for Calexico patients. He says Pioneers and Heffernan are working to identifying what services need to be prioritized.
