YUMA, Ariz.- The second annual Hector’s Wheel-A-Thon was this Saturday. The crowd came together to celebrate the life of Hector Uriarte who suffered from cerebral palsy. The Uriarte family wanted to do something to give back to those that helped them by giving to the future. All proceeds that are raised go towards a scholarship program, for students entering in the medical and special education programs at Arizona Western College. Josie Uriarte, says why this is so important, “I have always believed in giving to people. I have always believed that our purpose in life is to help others and this is a way I am helping others that helped us.”
