Woman tries to swallow meth

HOLTVILLE, Calif. – A woman was arrested in the Imperial Valley after trying to swallow two grams of methamphetamine.

Imperial County Sheriff’s Office (ICSO) deputies say Tina Sue Smith, was walking in the area of Pine Avenue and 5th Street in Holtville over the weekend.

Smith was suspected of a theft that had been reported earlier in the area according to an ICSO report. When deputies were talking to Smith they noticed she tried swallowing but ended up spitting out multiple bindles filled with meth instead.

Smith was arrested for transportation of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance for sales.
