YPD enforcing DUI patrols on Independence Day weekend

YUMA, AZ-  Independence day is here and you know what that means…family gatherings, alcohol and trips to the river. But we have to remember to drink responsibly.

Public Information Officer, Joe Franklin with the Yuma Police Department said, “Law enforcement will be all throughout Yuma County making sure the streets are safe. There wont be any road blocks but they will be out in the streets patrolling.”

Franklin adds, “Take the extra time to get a designated driver get your keys to a sober friend. Have that sober driver ready whether its a taxi. Taxi fare is a lot cheaper than a DUI fine”

Alexander Towing wants to help the community stay safe so they’re offering free towing this 4th of July weekend to make sure people are DUI free.

Sales Consultant, Melissa Preciado with Alexander Ford said, “If anyone has any problems getting home or leaving their cars if their too intoxicated to go home or they dont want to take a taxi to leave their cars they can go ahead and call Bill Alexander and contact their tip to toes program we go ahead and tow them and their car for free with no charge 24hrs a day.”
