YUHSD approves $79.5 million special bond

YUMA, Ariz.    Yuma Union High School District approved about $80 million in a special bond to refurbish and update current high schools in Yuma. They also plan on using close to $20 million to build a new high school in Somerton. The bond was approved Wednesday evening and will be on the ballot for the coming up election in November. Superintendent Toni Badone says they will use the rest of the money to update technology, school safety and remodel buildings. YUHSD plans on releasing more information on what they plan to do with the money in the next couple weeks.
