YUMA, Ariz. – A man wanted for numerous felony offenses was arrested by Yuma Police after a pursuit.
Enrique Corona Jr. appeared in court Friday afternoon where he learned from a judge that he is facing 15 different counts including pre-meditated murder in the first degree involving an officer, burglary, and a series of drug and weapon charges.
The Yuma Police Department’s Special Operations Group arrested a man wanted for numerous felony offenses Thursday night.
Officers attempted to contact 30-year-old Enrique Corona Jr. in the area of Eighth St and Seventh Avenue at about 9:15 p.m. Corona was wanted for numerous felony offenses including weapon violations, narcotics and burglary.
Police said Corona fled in a vehicle.
Officers located the vehicle in an area near Kennedy Lane and the railroad tracks. Corona ran from officers on foot into a fenced commercial yard in the 600 Block E 20th Street. Officers from the Police Department, with the assistance of U. S. Border Patrol were able to locate and arrest Corona inside the fenced yard.
The area around 20th Street and Factor Avenue was closed for approximately two hours while Corona was being located.
