Yuma police department implements a 5 year strategic master plan

YUMA, Ariz-

The City of Yuma Police Department presented their 2015-2020 strategic master plan on how to better serve our community.

According to Chief John Lekan the five year plan is a roadmap for YPD and represents a comprehensive proposal that is a flexible, realistic, and reflects contemporary standards of a professional municipal police department.

Police Sergeant Lori Franklin with the Yuma Police Department said, “The purpose is to redefine the mission, vision and core values of the Yuma Police Department. We’re trying to establish operational goals and objectives where the pd will pursue in the next five years.”

The Yuma Police Department is looking to educate the public on the functions and the abilites regarding what YPD is here to do for them.

Franklin adds, “If you see something try to help us. That way we can bring attention to it and that way we can bring attention to it and try to hit hard on it.”

It will serve to educate the public regarding the department’s functions and abilities, inform city council and community leaders of the department’s resource levels and identify opportunities for improvements in service.
